TKAT SCITT works in collaboration with primary and secondary schools across South East London, Essex and South East England.
We offer a high-quality teacher training programme (primary 5-11 and secondary 11-16) leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option to study for a PGCE.
Our school-based teacher training programme enables trainees to work alongside Good and Outstanding teachers, learning the skills and knowledge to enable them to have an impact on pupil progress. Trainees also participate in weekly professional studies training sessions at the regional training hubs, understanding teaching theories and research as well as sharing ideas.
The SCITT team understand the challenges and demands that trainees experience in their training year, which is why we offer a supportive, caring environment.
“The in-school experience has enabled me to practice and develop my skills whilst promoting a love for my subject. I was supported throughout the year and feel the dedication of both my Mentor and the TKAT SCITT team have made the process calm and manageable at all times.”
SCITT trainee June 2018
Investment in excellent teaching and leadership is our top priority. Once qualified, TKAT offers a Newly Qualified Teacher Programme and valuable mentoring opportunities; we support our trainees to progress into leadership roles and beyond.
TKAT SCITT offer core, School Direct Training and School Direct Salaried routes, with the option of QTS only or QTS with PGCE.
